Rory Mcllroy lost his number one in World status to Tiger Woods last weekend so has an extra incentive in this weeks Shell Houston Open not just to win Title but to regain number one spot in his final outing before The Masters in a fortnight he is top price 9/1 (Betvictor) to do so.
Course for is very important in Golf and two players stand out here Hunter Mahan at 16/1 (Coral) the defending Champ and Phil Mickleson also at 16/1 (Bet365) despite his horror show at Bay Hill, Phil is under par in his last 10 rounds here and although not in best of form has to be on ones short list because of his course form.
Of the outsiders Car Pettersson looks overpriced at 80/1 (William Hill) while Lee Westwood could certainly do with a big week at 33/1 (Skybet) but it is Dane Thorbjorn Olesen who looks the real value at 55/1 with Bet365. Olesen played some great golf at Bay Hill and is still finding his way on PGA Tour but at these odds he looks overpriced this week.
The European Tour heads to Morocco for Trophee Hassan 11. Francesco Molinari heads the market here at 12/1 (Ladbrokes) in what looks an open event. Scott Jamieson at 35/1 (Betfred) looks over the odds as does Alvaro Quiros at 50/1 (Betvictor) with the course set up ideal for Richie Ramsay available at 28/1 (Paddy Power).
