Wigan 2/5 for the drop

Wigan have been cut to 2/5 by Coral to be relegated from the Premier League after Aston Villa thumped Sunderland 6-1 on Monday night.

Christian Benteke’s second half hat trick as well as goals from Ron Vlaar, Andreas Weimann and Gabriel Agbonlahor boosted Villa’s survival hopes, pulling them further clear of the Latics, who are now five points adrift of safety.

Paul Lambert’s men are subsequently out to 13/2 for the drop at Coral with Sunderland a 10/1 shot and Newcastle, themselves on the end of a six-goal mauling last weekend, in to 7/1 to be playing Championship football next season.

** Premier League relegation
2-5 Wigan, 13-2 Aston Villa, 7 Newcastle, 10 Sunderland, 16 Norwich
