Fergie at the double on Monday

Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Monday; Tinghir in the Leicester 3.15 and Stubbs in the Naas 4.05. Compare odds and bet.

Leicester’s Norman Love Handicap looks a cracker on Monday, in which a strong case could be made for at least a couple of the eight runners, but Tinghir (3:15) created a good impression when winning at Ripon last time and is clearly held in some regard, judged on the fancy entries he holds.

Engaged in both the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Irish Champion Stakes later in the year at Leopardstown, the Dansili colt has been given a chance by the handicapper and should be up to defying a mark of 83. David Lanigan’s three-year-old was available at 10/3 with Bet Victor last night.

Over in Ireland Stubbs (4:05) can take Naas’ Listed juvenile contest, which was won 12 months ago by Dawn Approach.

Impressive in shedding his maiden tag at Navan last month, the Danehill Dancer colt was pulled out of the Marble Hill Stakes last weekend, which was won by stable-mate Coach House, with today’s rival Club Wexford in second.

Aidan O’Brien will, therefore, know what is required here and I expect that two-year-old to be backed accordingly. The selection was available at 11/10 with Paddy Power last night.

Monday’s selections:
3:15 Leicester: Tinghir; 11/4 Paddy Power
4:05 Naas: Stubbs; 11/10 Paddy Power
