Bookies are struggling to split the Lions and Australia ahead of the deciding Test, with Ladbrokes pricing both teams at 10/11.
Following news that Aussie captain James Horwill has been cleared to play, Ladbrokes clipped the hosts from 6/5 to 10/11 to prevail in the third contest, giving them parity in the betting with the tourists with the series standing at one apiece.
Ladbrokes rate skipper Horwill at 50/1 to score the game’s first try and also make hime 14/1 to grab a five-pointer at any time while he’s 16/1 to be man of the match and identically priced to be shown a card.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “The return of Horwill has given the home side a welcome boost ahead of the decider. Despite that we simply can’t split the sides ahead of what will be the biggest betting match in the sport to date.”
He added: “Even in anticipation of the groundswell of patriotic support, we’ve taken some decent bets for Australia and feel they could start the match as favourites.”
