Heaney 7/2 @ Ballinrobe

Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday; Heaney in the Ballinrobe 20:05. Compare odds and bet.

If Darroun takes to chasing and is on a going day, he will probably land the concluding beginners’ chase on his debut over fences at Ballinrobe on Tuesday evening, but he’s not the most consistent of performers and, at the likely prices, he is taken on with Heaney (8:05) as an each-way alternative.

A useful handicap hurdler – third off a mark of 129 at Cheltenham in October when last seen over the smaller obstacles – he has had four tries over fences to date, but hasn’t really had things go his way.

Tom Taaffe’s six-year-old is probably one for handicaps down the line, but he should be up to landing a contest of this nature beforehand and he will enjoy the predicted good ground. Paul Townend, the only jockey to have won on him (three times over hurdles), takes over in the saddle this evening.

Tuesday’s selection:
8:05 Ballinrobe: Heaney; 7/2 bet365
