Follow the First Lieutenant

Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Thursday; First Lieutenant in the Punchestown 4.15. Compare odds and bet.

Mouse Morris announced yesterday that Rule The World will be back in action next month and will remain over timber this season, while his stable star First Lieutenant (4:15) is fancied to make a winning return in the Star Bets For Racing Coverage Chase this afternoon.

Morris saddled War Of Attrition to win this race three times between 2005 and 2008, as well as taking the prize with China Rock three years back, so he clearly targets the contest and, while the selection often needs his first run of the season, he is a class above his rivals here.

Provided the ground doesn’t deteriorate too much throughout the day, the 4/5 on offer with Boylesports seems more than fair, as he looks more the 8/13 shot, the price which was on offer with Bet Victor and Paddy Power overnight.

Thursday’s selection:

4:15 Punchestown                 First Lieutenant 4/6 Stan James
