Go away for a return at 24/5

Live on BT1 & SS4: Sat 12.30 & Sun 12.45: An away double (24/5, Betfred) and a Celtic success are among four Scottish Premiership selections.

Leaders Celtic get things under way in the SPL this weekend when they travel to Hibernian and having won all four of their fixtures on the road, the Hoops will fancy their chances of maintainig that hundred percent record. Coral chalk Neil Lennon’s boys up at 2/5 to do just that and while the Hibees, Stan James’s 15/2 outsiders, might attract a modicum of cash given their decent form, it’s hard to overlook the champions, who are 14/5 at Ladbrokes to edge it by a one-goal margin.

A Motherwell victory against Hearts will see the Steelmen draw level on points with second-placed Inverness, who don’t play until Sunday and as ‘Well were unbeaten in five before going down 2-0 at Celtic Park last time out, they look like a home banker at 3/4 (Paddy Power) to get the better of a Jambos outfit, short of form, goals and confidence. A win ‘to nil’ for the hosts is arguably the best bet at Fir Park at odds of 19/10 courtesy of Coral.

If Motherwell fail to prevail, Aberdeen will leapfrog them into third provided they defeat Dundee United at Pittodrie. Skybet price the Dons at 6/5 to take all three points at the expense of the Terrors, Ladbrokes’s 5/2 outsiders but the visitors are making a habit of sharing the spoils on their travels so a stalemate at 12/5 with Betfred, alongside BetVictor’s 18/5 for it to be a score draw.

A trip to struggling Kilmarnock presents Ross County with the ideal opportunity to close the gap between themselves and the teams in the top six. Winner.com consider the hosts to be narrow favourites at 6/4 but Killie have yet to register a victory in any competition this season so the Staggies are a touch overpriced at 9/5 via William Hill.

St Johnstone have yet to manage an away victory but following their stunning 4-0 win over Inverness before the international break, they can rectify that at St Mirren. Betway rate Saints at 11/10 to defeat the Buddies and it’s 13/5 (Ladbrokes) for them to combine that with a clean sheet.

Finally, on Sunday, Coral chalk Inverness up at an enticing 10/11 to bounce back from that Perthshire mauling by sending Partick home empty-handed and as Caley Thistle are four from four in front of their own supporters, where they have yet to concede a goal, they’re difficult to oppose at an attractive price.
