Riviera hosts the Northern Trust Open this week and Jimmy Walker heads there as the talk of the PGA Tour following his third career success last time out at Pebble Beach. Like Jordan Speith, who finished tied fourth, Walker is looking good for a place in the American team for the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in September and both are priced at 20/1 in this one.
Graham DeLaet, at 22/1, has finished second on his last two outings and like George Coetzee who finally got over the line last week, he looks sure to break his maiden tag soon.
This is an event over the years that has thrown up shocks and course specialists have also tended to thrive so I like the chances of Billy Haas, a winner here in 2012, who is available at 28/1.
Similarly, Louis Oosthuizen will love this track and looks far too big at 50/1 while there are worse 150/1 chances than Fred Couples given that he regards Riviera as his favourite course having had multiple wins here not to mention tying for third at a massive price in 2009.
Alternatively, Tim Wilkinson at 200/1 could also give each-way backers a good run for their money at huge odds.
In the African Open played in East London, Thomas Aitken is the man to beat at 10/1 despite letting a winning chance slip to only place last Sunday.
I like the chances here of Gregory Bourdy, available at 18/1 while of the bigger prices 40/1 looks good value for Brandon Stone who is a player on the upgrade.
