Runner-up in the Oaks last year Secret Gesture (2:15) looks to have her optimum conditions for her return to action at York on Thursday and she is fancied to make a winning reappearance.
Impressive in landing the Oaks Trial at Lingfield first time out last season, 1m2f with a bit of give in the ground could be ideal for her and, with Ralph Beckett’s horses in good order (5 winners so far this month), she is taken to land the Middleton Stakes. The selection was available at 4/1 with Stan James and 9/2 with Coral overnight – if you’re playing each-way the former are ¼ odds while Coral are just 1/5th.
