Up another 12lbs and in class this afternoon Royal Palladium (1:55) still looked on the up when completing the hat-trick last month and is fancied to make it four from four over fences at Ludlow.
A course-and-distance winner the time before, Venetia Williams’ grey impressed at Market Rasen last time and the runner-up shaped reasonably well next time off the same mark.
The King’s Theatre gelding clearly has more on his plate here, stepping out of novice company for the first time, but he has a good amateur on his back and is right at the top of his game at present. He opened up 5-2 last night.
