£20 double returns £166

Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Born Survivor in the Warwick 14:00 and Sidbury Hill in the Taunton 14:10. Compare odds and bet.

Still travelling well when slithering on landing at the cross fence in a much deeper race at Newbury a fortnight ago Sidbury Hill (2:10) is fancied to go close in Taunton’s novices’ handicap chase on Thursday.

Seamus Mullins’ seven-year-old was forced to pull-up last time and, if this race doesn’t come too quickly for him, another big run is on the cards.  The Midnight Legend gelding is at home on an easy surface and he was already being well-supported on Wednesday evening (opened up 11-2 and into 4-1 at the time of writing).

Ten minutes earlier Born Survivor (2:00) makes his rules debut in the 2m5f maiden hurdle at Warwick, for Dan and Harry Skelton.

The son of King’s Theatre was very impressive in winning his sole point-to-point in mid-April, after which the four-year-old fetched £220,000 at the Brightwells Sale.

He moved like an exciting prospect under Jamie Codd at Broughshane and it will be slightly disappointing if he can’t record a victory at the first time of asking.  The selection opened up 2-1 on Wednesday evening, but was also proving popular early doors (into 11-8 at the time of writing).

Thursday’s selections:
2:00 Warwick: Born Survivor; 11/8 Paddy Power
2:10 Taunton: Sidbury Hill; 5/2 Stan James
