The Europa League returns on Thursday, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur among the favourites to win the competition and bag themselves a Champions League spot in the process.

Liverpool are a 11/1 chance (Ladbrokes) to win this piece of silverware, while Spurs are 16/1 (William Hill) although they have the small matter of the Premier League title to challenge for.

The Reds have a generous last-32 tie against an Augsburg side who are struggling in the Bundesliga this term and Jurgen Klopp’s side are a best price 11/10 (Stan James) to claim victory in Germany this week.

Daniel Sturridge is set to feature again and he’s a 4/1 chance (Winner) to break the deadlock, while Roberto Firmino is 9/2 with bet365 to open the scoring and the Merseyside team should have plenty of chances.

Augsburg are as big as 11/5 (Paddy Power) to enjoy a first leg win, with the German side knowing they need to have some kind of advantage before heading to Anfield a fortnight down the line.

Tottenham are flying in the Premier League and now head to Florence, with Spurs priced at 21/10 (bet365) to claim a Europa League first leg victory against Fiorentina.

Mauricio Pochettino is likely to rotate his squad for this clash, with the draw priced at 11/5 (Ladbrokes) and the home win is on offer at 7/5 (William Hill).

Spurs have won their past seven matches in all competitions and Harry Kane is a 5/1 chance (Sky Bet) to break the deadlock in this clash, while Josip Ilicic could be a danger man for the Serie A side at 11/2 (BetVictor).

Manchester United failed in the Champions League but now have a chance to redeem themselves in the Europa League. It’s the only way to get back into Europe’s premier competition and bet365 go 1/7 that the Red Devils qualify at the expense of FC Midtjylland.

Louis van Gaal’s team are 7/10 (William Hill) to win in Denmark on Thursday night, with the Dutchman likely to field a strong team against a side who sit third in the SAS Ligaen.

Midtjylland will be fired up for one of the biggest games in their history and Stan James offer 9/2 about the Danish side landing a first leg victory, while the draw is 11/4 with bet365.
