McCall 12-1 for Bantams peak

Skybet League One looks as competitive as ever this season, but who will make it into the Championship? Free Bets |

People always have their certainties for Premier League relegation but one team always upsets the applecart. Remember Newcastle last season? Free Bets

For the third season running, Sheffield United are favourites to win League One, with William Hill going 13/2 about the Blades finishing top of the pile. Chris Wilder is the latest manager attempting to get things right at the Yorkshire club, although many punters have had their fingers burnt already.

Every other team is available at double figures, with Millwall 11/1 with bet365 and looking to build on last season’s effort which saw them reach the play-off final. Down the road, Charlton appear to be getting their act together under Russell Slade and they are now trading at 10/1 (Ladbrokes).

MK Dons were another of the relegated sides from the Championship last term and Karl Robinson’s side are a 12/1 poke (bet365) to claim the title, while Bradford are now managed by Stuart McCall for the second time and the Bantams are 12/1 (BetVictor) to take League One by storm by finishing top.

Phil Parkinson left Valley Parade this summer and now takes charge at Bolton Wanderers, with the Lancashire side 14/1 (Stan James) to make an immediate return to the Championship by finishing top, with Oxford slightly bigger at 16/1 (bet365) to claim a double promotion by finishing top.

Indeed, it looks to be a wide-open contest and it would be little surprise to see some of the promoted sides faring well. Bristol Rovers have kept star striker Matty Taylor and Sky Bet have a tasty 25/1 that the Pirates win the division, with Northampton on offer at 28/1 (bet365) despite winning League Two at an absolute canter.

Gillingham are another side available at lumpy odds, with Paddy Power going 25/1 about Justin Edinburgh’s team and the Kent side weren’t far from the play-offs last season.

Scunthorpe should also go well at 20/1 (bet365), with Graham Alexander’s side finishing like a train last term and they could well be in the mix this time around.
