Willie Mullins sends a strong team to Naas on Sunday, including Carefully Selected and The Big Getaway (2:40) who can get off the mark at the second time of asking over hurdles.
The aptly-named six-year-old finished runner-up to Tolworth winner Fiddlerontheroof in a bumper on his debut for Mullins last March and he shaped with plenty of promise at Leopardstown over Christmas. Ideally, he will want further to be seen at his best, but he should be tough to beat here.
In the concluding hunters chase, Edwulf (4:10) is taken to reverse Down Royal form with the front two, and win for Joseph O’Brien and JP McManus.
The 11-year-old was winning the Irish Gold Cup less than two years ago and looked ready to step back up to 3m last time. Unbeaten at this track earlier in his career (maiden hurdle and a handicap chase off 145) he can score under Derek O’Connor.
