It's a long old journey through 4 qualifying rounds for the UEFA Champions League and this week we have the 2nd legs of the 2nd round.
Tuesday:
A fantastic tie has Irish team Bohemians popping over the channel to play The New Saints of Wales, the Welsh outfit needing to turn over a 1-0 defecit. Blue Square have TNS as 11/4 outsiders, despite the home advantage, but that may be a under-estimation after a decent showing in Ireland.
Two interesting ties see Salzburg travel to Torshavn and Dinamo Zagreb go to Koper. On paper, these are simple away wins; Salzburg are 2/7 with Bet365 and Zagreb 9/10 at Sportingbet. However both ties are practically over as Salzburg and Zagreb both netted 5 goals in the 1st leg, which would indicate weakened sides (why risk injury in such a long campaign) and complacency. Maybe split the stakes about wins in 90 mins for the home teams; Torshavn are 9/1 at Sportingbet and Koper 3/1 with Victor Chandler.
Wednesday:
Northern Ireland's Linfield did fantastically well to hold Rosenborg to a 0-0 draw at home but have it all to do if they want to progress, Boylesports put a massive 18/1 on Linfield to win in 90 mins.
In a similar situation as outlined above, Hapoel Tel Aviv travel with a 5-0 lead away to FK Željeznicar. The bookies have been quite cautious here with 10/11 about Tel Aviv (Skybet) and seemed to have got the pricing just right. Perhaps a draw at 5/2 with Betfred would be shrewd.
BATE Borisov, Champions League group competitors 2 seasons ago, also have a tasty 5-1 lead but the 1/1 with Coral away to FH Hafnarfjördur, looks extremely tempting.
