Wigan took a purposeful step towards lifting the regular season trophy after a 0-46 win away at Hull FC. Wigan are now 4 points clear of Warrington, who themselves suffered a somewhat shock 29-28 defeat at the hands of lowly Catalans. Warrington are now 3/1 at Betdaq to overhaul Wigan's lead and with 4 games to go, will need to buck their ideas up.
Leeds managed to capitalise on Hull FC's dreadful home showing by beating Salford and leapfrogging Hull into 4th. Leeds' timing is pretty spectacular as they begin to up the ante in the run-in for the playoffs. Leeds can be backed at 7/2 with Stan James to win in the Grand Final, slightly ahead of Warrington (4/1 Sportingbet) and behind favs Wigan, who are 13/8 with Coral.
St Helens make up the top 4, and remain in 3rd position after making short work of Wakefield. William Hill put them at 7/2, equal with Leeds, and if they can keep winning, may be able to chase Warrington down in 2nd place.
At the bottom, Catalans are 1/3 with Paddy Power to finish where they stand; propping up the league. If Harlequins can win their game in hand then the 4 point gap they would create will be too much for Catalans but should it stay a 2 point gap, the current 4/1 at Sportingbet for Harlequins to finish bottom will surely shorten.
