Thursday’s card doesn’t make quite as much appeal as yesterday’s did at Punchestown, but Bapaume (17:30) was a real eye-catcher in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham last time and is fancied to land the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle.
Runner-up to Presenting Percy in the Galmoy Hurdle on his previous outing, the six-year-old was anchored out the back at the festival and made up plenty of ground with relative ease, before his effort levelled out after the last. In what looks an average renewal, he can strike for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.
