LONE EAGLE (3:25) has been off the track since finishing last of five in last year’s King George, but is a class apart in this afternoon’s Tapster Stakes at Goodwood.
He won the Cocked Hat here a year ago, before finding runner-up in the Irish Derby. This looks like the ideal starting point and if anywhere near his best, he should be tough to beat.
