JAGWAR (2:20) has been left with top-weight in the Paddy Power Gold Cup but he is the class act in the field and is 2-2 at Cheltenham. Although those wins came on the New Course, he shouldn’t have a problem with the slightly sharper track and can justify favouritism.
Later on the card, JURANCON (3:30) is also fancied to make a winning return in the intermediate handicap hurdle. A smart novice last term, stepping up to this sort of trip should unlock further improvement and he will love the softening ground.
