HORSE RACING: Ladbrokes have trimmed Mille Chief a point from 8/1 to 7/1 favourite for the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in Match after an easy victory at Huntingdon.
Division two of the Huntingdon Racecourse For Outdoor Events Novices’ Hurdle provided the perfect opportunity for the Ski Chief gelding to brush up on his jumping ahead of a trip to Prestbury Park in March.
Long regarded as Alan King’s top Triumph Hurdle candidate, Mille Chief was big 2/9 odds-on favourite and did not need to be anywhere near his best as he came six lengths clear.
Another winner at the Cambridgeshire track, Mighty Man, is 16-1 (from 25-1) for the RSA Chase at Coral
Elsewhere, a pair of Dermot Weld-trained runners have been popular with ante post punters today with Coral. Rite Of Passage is now the clear 6-1 (from 8-1) favourite for the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle, while Elegant Concorde is 8-1 (from 10-1) for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper.
