“It’s a very winnable Caulfield Cup for this horse. Slight query with the big weight in the slow/heavy conditions at this track but is a definite chance. Obviously better suited at Flemington but we’ve seen good money for him this week.”

“From the good draw it’s hard not to see Herculian Prince taking the lead and aiming to dictate terms like he did in the Metropolitan. We’ve taken good money for him this week and at around $7.50 he looks great each way value.”

“Since his terrible barrier draw, we haven’t seen much interest in Alcopop and he’s been a big drifter from $6.50 out to $9.00. He’s a quality horse but he might be giving these strong on-pacers to big a start to reel in.”
Manighar
“He’s the pick of the internationals and I think his trainer Luca Cumani has worked out that the best type of horse for a Caulfield Cup is a young lightly raced horse on the up, and this fellow ticks those boxes. He’s placed in Group 1 company in Europe and should settle handy in running. He’s been well tried with us, and with Oliver in the saddle is sure to be give punters a great sight.”
Faint Perfume & Dariana
“Bart’s mares are interesting runners. I’m not sure that Dariana is suited by these wet conditions, while Faint Perfume has the key gear change of blinkers being added. We haven’t seen the best of her this spring, but she did look more like the star mare we know, when running a nice race in the Turnbull.”
Descarado
“He’s a good chance at odds, and with the wet track expectation he’s come in from $26 to $21. He had no luck in the Turnbull when caught wide the whole way. He’s certainly one to include in exotics.”
