FA Cup Team News

Check on all the latest injury news ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup 4th round fixtures before you place your bets.

Blackpool v Sheff Wed
BLACKPOOL will be without Lomana LuaLua (knock) this weekend and despite a nearly full squad to choose from, new signing Nouah Dicko could find a place on the bench. Miguel Llera and Mike Jones are both cup-tied for WEDNESDAY, fellow defenders Daniel Jones (calf), skipper Rob Jones (ankle) and Reda Johnson (back) are all out but Lewis Buxton makes a comeback.

Bolton v Swansea
New signing Tim Ream has not been cleared in time to play for BOLTON and Stuart Holden (knee) needs another week but ‘keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen should be fit to play. SWANSEA cannot field Steven Caulker due to loan conditions but Alan Tate is back in the squad after injury and Joshua McEachran could start given that he will be unable to face parent club Chelsea in midweek.

Brighton v Newcastle
BRIGHTON are likely to field Kazenga LuaLua against his old club and Vicente Rodriguez could return but Marcos Painter (hamstring) is out again and joins Tommy Elphick (Achilles) in the treatment room. NEWCASTLE will assess Fabricio Coloccini (groin), Senegal pair Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse are away while Steven Taylor (Achilles) and Sylvain Marveaux (groin) are out.

Derby v Stoke
Ryan Noble’s parent club Sunderland have refused him permission to play for DERBY, striker Theo Robinson (knock) and Steven Davies (fitness) are not ready to return but James Bailey is back in the team. Tony Pulis has a virtually injury free STOKE squad at his disposal as defender Andy Wilkinson and winger Ryan Shotton return and Mamady Sidibe (knee) is the only absentee.

Hull v Crawley
HULL defender Liam Rosenior has declared himself ready to play this weekend after an ankle injury so Nicky Barmby can choose from a fully fit squad and is likely to start Robbie Brady again while Matty Fryat remains on the bench. Loan signing Sanchez Watt will go straight into the CRAWLEY squad but Steve Evans has no new concerns ahead of KC Stadium clash.

Leicester v Swindon
LEICESTER have a number of injury worries including Paul Gallagher (back), Andy King (foot), Matt Oakley and Franck Moussa (both knocks). Danny Drinkwater and Liam Moore meanwhile are cup-tied and Sol Bamba is at the African Nations Cup. SWINDON can recall Alan McCormack after suspension and loanee Daniel Boateng goes straight in but Luke Rooney is cup-tied.

Liverpool v Man United
Jay Spearing is set to be recalled to the LIVERPOOL team but Craig Bellamy is likely to be rested, Lucas Leiva (knee) is injured and Luis Suarez is suspended. UNITED are missing a host of players including Nemanja Vidic (knee) and Tom Cleverley (ankle) while Nani (foot) is not expected to feature and trio Rio Ferdinand (back), Wayne Rooney and Phil Jones (both ankle) are all doubts.

Millwall v Southampton
Captain Paul Robinson (thigh) will miss out for MILLWALL, fellow defenders Shane Lowry and Alan Dunne are both suspended while Jordan Stewart (groin) sits out so Jack Smith and Tony Craig step in. Rickie Lambert returns to the SAINTS attack after his three-match ban, and new boy Tadanari Lee is available but Jos Hooiveld (hamstring) and Adam Lallana (groin) are doubtful.

QPR v Chelsea
QPR will hand a late fitness test to defender Daniel Gabbidon who has been struggling with a nagging hip injury while both Adel Taraabt and Armand Traore are away at the African Cup of Nations. CHELSEA midfielder Frank Lampard has been receiving treatment for the torn calf muscle he suffered at Norwich but isn’t likely to be fit and Alex is on the verge of joining Paris St Germain.

Sheff Utd v Birmingham
James Beattie starts a three-game ban for UNITED after his dismissal at Charlton and Ryan Flynn, who has recovered from illness, could replace the striker on the bench for the Blades, who have no further worries. A knee injury continues to rule out BIRMINGHAM defender Stephen Carr and Jean Beausejour has joined Wigan but Liam Ridgewell returns from a hamstring problem.

Stevenage v Notts Co
Incoming STEVENAGE boss Gary Smith is unlikely to make too many changes in his first game in charge. The extra space on the bench could pave the way for Chuks Aneke’s inclusion in the match day squad while Darius Charles is pushing to start. COUNTY are without cup-tied defender Kieron Freeman but Julian Kelly has recovered from a calf injury and could step right in.

West Brom v Norwich
Paul Scharner has a niggling Achilles injury and looks set to miss out for WEST BROM while Shane Long could be given the chance to rest an ongoing back problem. On-loan defender Kyle Naughton is ineligible for NORWICH, who could bring long-term absentee James Vaughan (knee) back into the fold. Elliott Ward (knee) and Marc Tierney (groin) are also in contention.

Arsenal v Villa (Sun)
ARSENAL trio Thierry Henry, Mikel Arteta (both calf) and Bacary Sagna (ankle) will all be monitored, Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho are on international duty but Francis Coquelin (hamstring) is back. Charles N’Zogbia (heel) is sidelined for VILLA, but boss Alex McLeish has Gabriel Agbonlahor back from illness while Emile Heskey (Achilles) and Stephen Ireland (hamstring) are also fit.

Sunderland v Middlesbrough (Sun)
A facial injury is set to rule out SUNDERLAND striker Nicklas Bendtner but the Black Cats could be boosted by the return of Fraizer Campbell (knee) from a long-term lay-off and Jack Colback (ankle) is also nearing a comeback. MIDDLESBROUGH duo Kevin Thomson and Julio Arca are suspended, Bart Ogbeche (hamstring) is out and ‘keeper Jason Steele (thigh) is rated doubtful.
