Terrors Tempt At Tasty 3/1

Live on Skysports 4: Sun 12.45: Paddy Power quote Dundee United at a tasty 3/1 to stun champions Celtic in the SPL.

Despite wrapping up the title some time ago, Celtic don’t appear to have taken their foot off the gas, racking up an impressive five consecutive league victories and not conceding a single goal in that sequence.

It’s perhaps not surprising then that the Neil Lennon’s men are Skybet’s even money favourites as they prepare to visit Tannadice today and potential Hoops backers will be further encouraged by the fact that Dundee United were thumped 5-0 at Rangers in midweek.

However, look beyond that results and there are reasons to expect an upset in this one and Peter Houston’s troops might be worth a quid or two at a chunky 3/1 with Paddy Power.

With nothing to play for, Lennon chose to shuffle his pack on Thursday as his team edged out St Johnstone and he could continue to give game time to some of his less experienced squad members this afternoon.

Moreover, the Terrors have plenty of incentive given that they have a Europa League place to secure and back in front of their own supporters, United will be desperate to put right Wednesday night’s aberration. The hosts can pick up a positive result then and Boylesports make them 10/11 to avoid defeat against the champions for the first time in six meetings.

Nevertheless, a Terrors clean sheet seems unlikely when you consider Celtic’s attacking quality, so Betfred’s 4/6 for both teams to score stands out, despite the Hoops’ recent defensive parsimony and the brave can tackle Ladbrokes’ 12/1 for Houston’s charges to finish on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

Up top, United’s Jon Daly is involved in a scrap with Bhoys striker Gary Hooper for the SPL’s top scorer accolade and it’s the former, currently one behind on 18, who can boost his chances in this one. The Terrors front man is 15/2 courtesy of William Hill to break the Tannadice deadlock and Coral quote Daly at 9/4 to add to his healthy tally at any stage.

Winless in five and struggling for goals, St Johnstone look up against it as they head to Tynecastle, where hosts Hearts are Stan James’ 11/10 favourites for the points and Saints are 3/1 with BetVictor to stop the rot.

The visitors have managed to find the net just once in their last five outings, a statistic that lends appeal to bet365’s 21/10 for a Jambos triumph ‘to nil’ and with that in mind, Ladbrokes’ 7/1 for Paulo Sergio’s side to grab the only goal catches the eye.
