Fergie’s Sunday double top

Paul Ferguson two selections for us on Sunday; I Need Gold in the 12:50 at Kelso and Un Atout in the Punchestown 2:30. Compare odds and bet.

Despite his string still not completely firing, there have been signs of Donald McCain’s form taking a turn for the better and he sends a couple of nice novices up to Kelso on Sunday.

Carlisle bumper winner Go Conquer is worth noting in the opener, whilst I Need Gold (12:50) is taken to land the Paris Pike Novices’ Chase.

Former smart bumper performer Oscar Rock is sure to be popular on his chasing debut, but it is now over a year since we have seen the best of him, and he is taken on with McCain’s six-year-old, who scored impressively over course-and-distance back in mid-October.

Over at Punchestown Mala Beach will appreciate the longer trip in the beginners’ chase, but preference is for the returning Un Atout (2:30) who looked a potentially top-class prospect during his novice hurdle season.

The Robin Des Champs gelding has the size and scope to go a long way over fences and, given the regard in which he is held, it is unlikely that the six-year-old will be left too short for this return.

Sunday’s selections:
12:50 Kelso: I Need Gold
2:30 Punchestown: Un Atout
