Back Accies in an acca at 19/4

Sat 15.00: Peter Sharkey has three picks in the Scottish Premiership this week including a 19/4 treble (BetVictor).

Neither Dundee United nor Inverness have made good starts to the campaign (between them, they’ve won just two of their opening 14 fixtures), so it’s no surprise to see Thistle heading to Tannadice priced as bet365’s lengthy-looking 12/5 underdogs. The appeal of these eye-catching odds is amplified once punters realise that Inverness have won three and drawn two of their last five contests with United who, because they enjoy home advantage, open as BetVictor’s 7/5 jollies.

The pair’s five most recent meetings have yielded just 11 goals – which suggests that the 9/1 posted by Stan James against a 1-0 away win looks good value, as does Ladbrokes’ 6/1 for it to finish one apiece.

Only once in their last 15 meetings have both Hamilton and Motherwell scored in the same fixture, an incredible statistic which might persuade some punters to back each side to keep a clean sheet: Skybet price the Accies at 2/1, while Motherwell are 10/3 with the same firm.

Unbeaten at home, Hamilton are Paddy Power’s 6/5 favourites to secure three points and 3/1 with Winner.com to win without conceding.

Only one of the last seven meetings between Kilmarnock and St Johnstone, who meet at Rugby Park, have been won by the home side. William Hill price the Saints at 1/5 to find the net, while bet365 rate the chances of them opening the scoring at even money.

Kilmarnock are 9/5 (Stan James) to secure three points, while St Johnstone are offered at 6/4 by BetVictor.com.

Fourth-placed Ross County should have little difficulty seeing off winless Partick Thistle – and at 11/10 to do so (Ladbrokes) they look exceptional value. Ross can be backed at 13/5 (Stan James) to be in front at the end of both halves.

Aberdeen could move eight points clear of Celtic, who kick off later on Sunday afternoon, should they overhaul third-placed Hearts at Tynecastle. This is no gimme for the league leaders: they’ve won just one of the pair’s last 14 contests, yet the Dons kick off as Betfred’s 11/10 favourites to maintain their 100% start to the season, with Hearts offered at 13/5 (William Hill).

Finally, Dundee have failed to beat Celtic since May 2001, since when the champions have won 20 and drawn 3 of their subsequent contests. Little wonder that Celtic, still 1/10 (Winner.com) to be crowned league champions, are offered at 1/4 (BetVictor.com) to make it 21 victories from 24 on Sunday afternoon.

Recommended Bets:
Inverness to beat Dundee Utd – 12/5 (bet365)
Hamilton, Celtic and Ross County treble – 19/4 (BetVictor)
Aberdeen to beat Hearts – 11/10 (Betfred)
