Paul Ferguson has two selections on Saturday; Captain Bocelli in the Market Rasen 17:10. Compare odds and bet.
A smart juvenile hurdler last season Golden Doyen (5:05) makes his British debut on the Flat at Haydock this afternoon and appears to have been given a chance by the handicapper.
Philip Hobbs’ four-year-old beat the smart Hargam in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last November and was a winner on the level at Compiegne in his native France 23 months ago.
Entered in the Cesarewitch, David Allan’s mount could easily prove well treated on an opening mark of 81 and he looks worthy of each-way support (trading at 7-1 overnight).
The bumper at Market Rasen looks a decent event but, at the prices (7-2 overnight), the verdict goes to course-and-distance winner Captain Bocelli (5:10) who fairly flew home to score here in May.
Anabel Murphy’s six-year-old is an imposing Kayf Tara gelding who looks a smart prospect for owner, Diana Whateley. Despite facing a couple of interesting sorts today, he can make it two from two.
Saturday’s selections:
5:05 Haydock Golden Doyen
5:10 Market Rasen Captain Bocelli
