The Premier Kelso Hurdle sees the Finian’s Oscar form put to the test, with Tolworth second and third Capitaine and Chalonnial among the five runners, but Mount Mews (3:25) is preferred for Malcolm Jefferson and Brian Hughes.
Two from two at the track – one in a bumper and once in a novice hurdle – he probably should be unbeaten over hurdles, but hit the front plenty soon enough when turned over at short odds at Wetherby.
Going back up in trip shouldn’t pose any problems and the ground was soft when he won on his racecourse debut at Market Rasen. He can take this en route to Aintree.
