Manchester United’s home dominance over Tottenham came to a dramatic end on Saturday as Spurs pocketed their first victory at Old Trafford in 23 years and Sir Alex Ferguson’s men don’t have an easy task as they look to bounce back given that they head to Newcastle’s St James’ Park, where they lost 3-0 last season.

Nevertheless, bookies don’t expect the Red Devils to suffer a third reverse of the campaign on Tyneside, William Hill installing them as evens favourites for the points and Paddy Power posting 3/1 against a Magpies success. Alan Pardew’s charges however, have shared the spoils in three of their last four in the league, so it could be worth considering a small play on the draw, at an enticing 13/5 courtesy of Betfred.

BetVictor offer 6/1 for a 1-1 scoreline, it’s 5/1 with Skybet to be level at the end of each half and with neither side looking particularly water tight at the back at present, bet365’s 4/6 for both teams to get on the scoresheet looks like a banker.

Staying with goals and Robin van Persie is BetVictor’s 18/5 favourite to break the deadlock but Demba Ba scored in both fixtures against Manchester United last term and has struck five times in three outings, so a more ambitious gamble on the Newcastle front man at 13/2 (Skybet) might reap heftier rewards.

Aston Villa have the task of visiting Manchester United’s buoyant conquerors Spurs and the North London outfit are Paddy Power’s 4/9 favourites to snare all three points. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Paul Lambert’s troops are big outsiders at 15/2 with BetVictor and with Tottenham seemingly on an upward trajectory, it’s fair to assume that the Villa boss would be more than happy with a point, a return Stan James rate at 7/2.

There’s no disputing that the Villans face an almighty test at White Hart Lane and travelling fans might subsequently prefer to back their team in the handicaps, where Skybet hand them a two-goal start at odds of 4/6. For more confident fans meanwhile, Villa only kick-off with a goal start at Ladbrokes, who make them 7/4 and that will be profitable if the visitors manage to avoid defeat.

Liverpool grabbed their first Premier League victory of the campaign in emphatic fashion last time out, smashing five past Norwich and bookies are confident that they can make it back-to-back successes as Stoke visit Anfield, BetVictor installing them as 1/2 favourites.

Luis Suarez meanwhile, helped himself to a hat-trick at Carrow Road, for the second consecutive season and he’s 4/1 with bet365 to break the deadlock in this one. Alternatively, BetVictor rate the Uruguayan at even money to notch at any stage.

Finally, at St Mary’s, Stan James rate Southampton and Fulham at 12/5 to be inseparable in this afternoon’s early kick-off, which is 14/1 at William Hill to end two-apiece.

Recommended Bets:
Demba Ba to score first – 13/2 (bet365)
Aston Villa (+2) to beat Tottenham – 4/6 (Skybet)
Southampton and Fulham to draw – 12/5 (Stan James)
