DOUGLAS HYDE (12:35) has twice been selected here in recent weeks, only for the meeting to be abandoned. With the weather the way it is, conditions should allow him to make his handicap debut at Haydock on Tuesday and he can strike off an appealing mark of 105. The longer trip looks sure to suit.
In the next race, CAPTAIN HUGO (1:05) can return to winning ways. He won well at Newbury on debut before running into the promising Taurus Bay at Aintree and the track at Haydock should suit.
