Although Encanto Bruno and Runcock are respected, BIRDIE OR BUST (5:08) is given the nod in the opening novice chase at Roscommon. Henry de Bromhead’s mare won in a canter at Killarney and dropping in trip shouldn’t be too much of an issue, judged on her smart hurdles form. She took a while to take to fences but impressed last time and perhaps, she had turned a corner.
