Betrescue.com have teamed up with The Daily Record - Scotland's leading daily newspaper to launch a fantastic £5000 contest - the biggest pot ever given away by Paul Jain, the Punter's Mr Fixit to find Scotland's Champion Football Tipster for the 2007/08 season.
As well as the silverware there is £1000 worth of free bets up for grabs to the overall champion, £50 for weekly winners plus £100 for monthly winners. We have invited 10 of our web partners to cough up £500 each and take part in an exciting season long tournament. They are Stan James, VCbet, Betinternet, Bet365, Skybet, Betdaq, Partybets, WBX, Coral and Sunderlands.
The final week came and went with only table topping Hugh Welsh and Tommy Smith adding to their tallies. Hugh's treble, forecasting wins for Stockport, Real Madrid and Udinese to land a mythical return of £32.73 to a tenner stake and a £50 free bet. That win kept Hugh at the top of the leaderboard so he's the overall winner but as only four contestants managed a profitable line in the final play-off, a draw was made to determine who should receive the fifth prize; David Hill plucked out of the hat first and so he claims fifth place.

PUNTERS loved taking part in the 2006/07 betting contest so we've carried the format over to the new season with one or two alterations.
There is a total of £5000 of free bets up for grabs and the overall winner will be presented with a superb trophy worth £400 from Betrescue which will be theirs to keep.
Every month there will be a £100 prize up for grabs, weekly winners can scoop a £50 free bet and everyone who has a winning line will feature on a scoreboard which will run until the end of March.
At that point the top 25 and ties will play for the £1000 first prize and magnificent trophy. And whoever comes out on top in the final shoot-out will be crowned the winner.
There are runners-up prizes worth another £2000 on offer with £1000 for the overall winner, £500 to second, £250 for third, £150 for fourth and £100 for fifth.
Playing the Betrescue game each month is easy and you can enter by post, email, text or through the internet. You must place a minimum of one bet a month to qualify to play and each stake will be treated as one £10 bet every week.
Bets must be placed in the form of an accumulator involving weekend games in the Scottish and English leagues. Saturday, Sunday and Monday matches can be included but no Friday ones and English Conference games can't be chosen, unless stated.
You must pick at least three results home, away or draw, entries will be void if postponements cause the line to have fewer than three selections and a maximum of six games can be predicted.
Odds will be taken from Coral.
Any winnings, including stake, are added to your total with the person accumulating the most in a month claiming £100 of free bets. In the event of a tie a draw will take place to decide prizes.
Weekly prizes meanwhile will carry forward to the following week if there are no winners.
The contest starts on Saturday 04th August with the big kick off in the SPL and ends on the last weekend in March before the play offs kick in.
One entry per person, maximum of two per household. Postal entries must arrive by Friday, Web entries before the first of your chosen games kicks off.
An updated leaderboard will be featured on Betrescue website or can be posted out by request.
