Daggers Too Sharp For Dons

Dagenham and Redbridge are 7/4 with Paddy Power to beat MK Dons for back to back wins in League 1 and begin a push for survival.

Struggling Dagenham and Redbridge gave their survival hopes a shot in the arm last weekend by grabbing a late winner against in-form Hartlepool and John Still’s side could make it back-to-back victories as they entertain MK Dons.

The visitors have suffered more away defeats than anyone else in League One, maintaining a healthy league position only because of their strength at home but even that went out of the window on Tuesday as Karl Robinson’s men were beaten 3-1 by Plymouth on their own patch.

It’s hard to make a case for the Dons then, despite the fact that the Daggers remain just one place off the foot of the table and it’s the hosts we’re siding with here at a generous 7/4 with Paddy Power.

A 5-0 hammering at league leaders Brighton is Leyton Orient’s only defeat in a dozen matches in all competitions and although that sequence is populated by a handful of draws, the O’s can secure the full compliment of points as they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Brisbane Road.

Russell Slade’s men have only played four matches at home since October but in those they have managed an impressive 17 goals and although eight of those came against non-league Droylsden, they’re nevertheless a tough opponent in their own backyard.

For their part, Alan Irvine’s troops have lost six out eleven away from home in the league, including their last three and are struggling to find the consistency to mount a credible promotion challenge. The Owls’ hopes in that department are a tempting 13/8 at Stan James to suffer a further blow against Leyton Orient.

Overlooking the recent 6-0 home reverse against Southampton, Oldham tend to be relatively strong at Boundary Park and they can get the better of Brentford there on Saturday, a result Totesport offer at 6/5. However, the best bet in that one relates to Dale Stephens, who is to 7/2 courtesy of bet365 to get on the scoresheet at some stage.

The Latics midfielder is on a bit of a run having struck three times in his last five outings and is also responsible for penalties. Furthermore, Brentford have shipped seven goals in three away games and so it’s safe to assume that Stephens might have at least one decent chance in the match.

Recommended Bets:
Dagenham to beat MK Dons – 7/4 (Paddy Power)
Leyton Orient to beat Sheffield Wednesday – 13/8 (Stan James)
Dale Stephens to score at any time for Oldham – 7/2 (bet365)
