Rocket 7/2 Masters Fav

The Ladbrokes Mobile Masters gets underway on Sunday and three time winner Ronnie O’Sullivan is the 7/2 fav with the tournament sponsors.

Last year’s winner Mark Selby is an 8/1 chance with previous champions Mark Williams (10/1) and Stephen Hendry (66/1) other interesting contenders in the invitation-only event.

In the first round of matches on Sunday Mark Selby (2/7) is expected to account for Mark King (5/2). Ali Carter (4/7) plays in the evening session and could be upset by Peter Ebdon at 5/4 – all Ladbrokes.

The ‘Highest break’ market is a closely contested one with O’Sullivan the 5/1 favourite with John Higgins just behind at 7/1 on his comeback after a 6 month ban. Despite being one of the less fancied players for the tournament at 25/1, Jamie Cope is 16/1 to register the highest break.

With participants from China, Australia and the Home nations entering the masters this year the sponsors also quote even money that the tournament is won by a non-English player. It’s 8/11 that an Englishman wins the 2011 masters,

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The line up oozes quality and the one thing we are sure of is that there will be some breathtaking snooker on display. Selby could stamp his mark on this tournament with a convincing display against King in the opening game which would see his outright price cut. As far as the highest break goes we can’t rule anyone out but Higgins is sure to give a good account of himself as he bounces back.”
