Barcelona could only draw at Seville last weekend but that was only the fourth time in their 28 league matches that Pep Guardiola’s side had failed to take maximum points. At 1/7 with , they are strongly fancied to get back to winning ways as they host Getafe but a few injury worries and a slight loss of fluency of late mean it might not be the mauling some are expecting at the Camp Nou.
Admittedly, the visitors arrive in poor shape and they certainly won’t take anything from the clash but it could be one of those nights where Barca simply get the job done and a victory by a one-goal margin at 15/4 (888Sport) would catch the eye were it not for Getafe’s terrible scoring record on the road. Instead, noting that Michel’s charges have drawn a blank in seven of their last ten away from home in the La Liga, bet365’s 5/6 for a home win ‘to nil’ is the call, although we wouldn’t discourage a flutter on the triumph by one.
It would be less surprising if Real Madrid only managed a narrow victory given that they head to neighbours Atletico and indeed a slender away success could be on the cards at the Vicente Calderon.
Jose Mourinho’s side are in decent form having won six out of seven in the league, they’ve also booked their place in the last eight of the Champions League and morale is high at the Bernabeu so they are hard to overlook. Los Blancos have also beaten their city rivals three times already this season and at 4/6 with Stan James they should make it a clean sweep.
The pair’s Copa Del Rey tie at the same stadium finished 1-0 to Real and a repeat at 8/1 (Coral) isn’t out of the question but more tempting is 888Sport’s 14/5 for Mourinho’s troops to shade it by one; they won’t find it easy against a team whose form has improved over the last handful of games but they have the quality to sneak it.
