Her Majesty The Queen’s Carlton House has been cut to 7-4 (from 2-1) by Coral to win the Derby, after continual support.
The Michael Stoute owed 3-year-old was an impressive winner of the Dante Stakes on his first appeareance of the season last week at York, and has proved popular in the betting ever since.
In other races, the Mike Channon trained Gatepost was cut by Coral to win the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, after a couple of large bets were seen for the unbeaten 2-year-old. He is now 6-1 (from 8-1) and the favourite.
“As an impressive winner of the most reliable Derby trial, we would expect to see plenty for the horse to win at Epsom, but coupled with the fact that he’s owed by Her Majesty means our liabilities are going to be higher than ever this year, thanks to the many patriotic punters out there,” said Coral spokemsan Gary Burton.
