Stan James have cut Kauto Star from 16/1 to 9/2 for the King George VI Chase at Kempton after rolling back the years at Haydock.
He is also 14/1 from 33/1 to win a third Cheltenham Gold Cup next March.
Following defeat, Long Run is now 5/4 from 4/5 for a repeat King George victory, and 5/2 from 9/4 to retain the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
StanJames.com spokesman Rory Jiwani says, “That was a magical performance from Kauto Star who showed he is still a top class chaser at the age of 11. But Long Run’s jumping surely cannot be as bad as that again, and he is still a worthy favourite for both the King George and Cheltenham.
“Diamond Harry was a shade disappointing for a horse who normally goes so well fresh. He’s unchanged at 25/1 for the King George and 20/1 for the Gold Cup.
“Weird Al stayed on well for third after being outpaced and may need a stiffer test to show his best. We’ve cut him from 20/1 to 16/1 for the Gold Cup.
“Kauto Star’s stablemate Master Minded impressed at Ascot this afternoon, and we’ve cut him from 5/1 to 9/2 for the King George.”
