The DFS Park Hill Stakes is the feature on day two of the St Leger meeting from Doncaster and Wild Coco (2:55) is fancied to take the Group 2 prize for Sir Henry Cecil and Tom Queally.
She made a winning return to action in the Group 3 Lilly Langtry at Glorious Goodwood last time and the deteriorating conditions (ground appeared to be cutting up yesterday) won’t inconvenience the four-year-old.
She has twice won on good-to-soft ground and, having proven herself over this sort of trip last time, she ticks plenty of boxes. The Shirocco filly was available at 2/1 with Boylesports overnight.
At the prices, the best each-way alternative and, possibly, the main danger looks to be the Godolphin filly Kailani, who looked really good when slamming Hazel Lavery by 7 lengths in the Pretty Polly Stakes on soft ground back in May.
The daughter of Monsun has since finished seventh in both the Oaks and the Ribblesdale, but a return to form would make her a serious player here. She was trading at 10/1 with Ladbrokes last night.
