Ladbrokes are taking on Tiger Woods in the US Open and have now pushed the world number one out to odds of 6/1.
It’s almost five years since Woods last won a major and despite having captured four titles this year, Ladbrokes are increasingly confident his wait won’t end at Merion so they’ve reacted accordingly.
Phil Mickelson is Ladbrokes’ second favourite at 20/1, closely followed by Adam Scott, Matt Kuchar and Rory McIlroy at 25/1, although the latter has been friendless in the market and with his form not the best, he has been backed to 3/1 at Ladbrokes to miss the cut.
Meanwhile, Matteo Manassero has attracted some each-way support and has been cut to 50/1 from 66/1.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “Considering Woods hasn’t won a Major in five years it’s difficult to not want to lay him. We can’t give McIlroy away at the moment and unfortunately for him punters are more excited about his chances of an early exit than winning it.”
