Get on Goodwood Galway double

Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Curbyourenthusiasm in the Goodwood 3.10 and Tigris River in the Galway 4.45. Compare odds and bet.

CURBYOURENTHUSIASM (3:10) finally gets his favoured quick ground this afternoon and is taken to land the Goodwood Cup.

David Simcock’s grey has only been sighted once this term (pulled out on a number of occasions due to soft ground), but he remains progressive and threatens to improve again for the step up in trip.

The fact he has the pace for shorter means he will be able to hold his position, something that is important at Goodwood, and a big run looks on the cards. He is worth supporting each-way at 8-1.

Another to back each-way is TIGRIS RIVER (4:45) in the Galway Hurdle.

Available at 16-1 on Wednesday, Joseph O’Brien’s lightly raced five-year-old looks to have been primed for this, following an eye-catching comeback run earlier in the month.

A maiden hurdle winner over course-and-distance, the Montjeu gelding won’t mind the deteriorating ground, although a dry day would be preferable.

Fourth in the valuable Coral.ie Hurdle back in January, he has a valuable prize in him off his current mark and can go well at rewarding odds here.

The market is headed by Dan Skelton’s raiding Superb Story, who would certainly next best for me. But, at the prices, I’m happy to side with Tigris River.

Thursday’s selections:
3:10 Goodwood – Curbyourenthusiasm; 8/1 Skybet
4:45 Galway – Tigris River; 16/1 Betvictor
