Only four go to post for the staying novices’ chase at Catterick, but it still looks a decent event on paper and one in which IMPULSIVE STAR (1:20) can score for Neil Mulholland.
A non-runner when put up in this column last month, he was a useful staying novice hurdler last season and always promised to make a better chaser. Testing ground isn’t an issue and he was a course winner over hurdles here back in January. He looks up to making a winning debut over fences.
