Brought down when still travelling kindly in last month’s Bet Victor Gold Cup, Nicky Henderson’s Rather Be (1:55) is fancied to land this afternoon’s Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham.
The seven-year-old was collared in the shadows of the post at the Festival and in March and ought to relish the quicker conditions today. He’s 6lbs better off with last month’s winner and, although it was still four fences from home, it did look as though he would play a big hand in the finish. Granted a bit of luck in running, he looks sure to go close and he is the day’s sole selection.
