With there being no jumps action again today, I’ve been forced to take a rare venture onto the all weather and I’m taking a chance on GOLDEN WOLF (4:15) at Newcastle.
Formerly trained by Richard Hughes, he hasn’t set the world alight in two starts for his current connections, but drops in trip having been keen both times. The hood is also applied and Rachael Blackmore is an eye-catching booking, having won twice aboard Bedrock for the same connections.
His form last summer was solid and he was a big eye-catcher behind Stratum at Newbury in July. If he can recapture that sort of form, he could go close at this more realistic level.
