Whilst he may lack a recent run and is forced to shoulder a 3lbs penalty, there is a chance that SANGARIUS (20:10) could be a cut above the opposition in this evening’s Listed Heron Stakes.
The Kingman colt beat the smart Bangkok on his racecourse debut at Newmarket, before smoothly winning the Listed Flying Scotsman at Doncaster. He still looked too immature to fully do himself justice in the Dewhurst and he might well have improved significantly (physically) over the winter.
If he is wound up for this return, he can return to winning ways before heading to Ascot for the St James’s Palace Stakes.
