Fergie’s Friday racing tips

Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Friday; Birchdale 13:00 and Sky Pirate 14:40 both at Ascot. Compare odds and bet.

Ascot’s card gets underway with a cracking novices’ chase, in which BIRCHDALE (1:00) is taken to score for Nicky Henderson.

A good looking son of Jeremy, he looks to possess the size and scope for fences, and the drop in trip looks sure to suit.

Later on the card, both Cloth Cap and King Of Realms (excellent record first time out at this track) are of interest in the penultimate race on the card, whilst SKY PIRATE (2:40) can win for Jonjo O’Neill, senior and junior.

A faller when travelling like the winner at Wetherby last time, he will appreciate the drying ground and can make amends off the same mark.

Friday’s selections:
1:00 Ascot – Birchdale; 6/5 Bet365
2:40 Ascot – Sky Pirate; 5/2 PaddyPower
