Again, I like the look of a novice in handicap company, with COLUMN OF FIRE (2:30) of considerable interest in the William Fry Handicap Hurdle. He boasts a similar profile to last year’s winner Dallas Des Pictons and got off the mark last time, having fallen (going well at the time) the time before. His earlier form with the likes of Longhouse Poet reads well and an opening mark of 132 looks fair. If all goes well here, he could be one for the Martin Pipe.
If getting into the race (third reserve) Cabaret Queen would warrant considerable respect, being rated much lower over hurdles.
