Following an eye-catching run in the Ebor last time Scarlet Dragon (2:30) is taken to defy top-weight at Newbury on Friday.
Third in this race last year and a previous course-and-distance winner, the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes winner made a big forward move halfway up the home straight at York, and coming back in distance is sure to suit. Although only seventh there and also in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock (both off this mark), this looks a much easier assignment, and the slightly better ground might also help.
