Although dual Derby winner Lambourn represents the same stable and he has ground to make up with Carmers on Royal Ascot form, SCANDINAVIA (3:40) is taken to win the St Leger on Saturday. He was closing all the way to the line in the Queen’s Vase and has progressed since that fifth place. Whilst Lambourn arrives here on the back of a disappointing run in the Great Voltigeur, the selection is looking for a hat-trick following his career-best victory in the Goodwood Cup. With stamina in abundance, he can strike for Aidan O’Brien.
