The Curragh stages a mixed meeting on Wednesday evening, well a Flat fixture with a bumper to conclude and the day’s two selections come from the Irish venue. First up is My Mate Mozzie (7:00) who finished runner-up in the November Handicap last time and should appreciate both the slightly shorter trip and better ground. At his best on right-handed tracks as a hurdler, he has plenty in his favour this evening and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour after a 213-day break.
Later on the card, Bumble Bee Bet (8:30) should be tough to beat in the aforementioned concluding bumper. Charles Byrnes’ runner won at Ayr on Scottish Grand National day, when the significant market support suggests that he had shown plenty at home. The son of Court Cave looks a promising sort for this time of year.
