Paul Ferguson has two selections from Sandown for us on Saturday; An Bradan Feasa at 1.50 and El Fabiolo in the 3.00. | Free Bets |
It’s the final day of the jumps season at Sandown on Saturday, where An Bradan Feasa (1:50) is worthy of a small each-way interest in the opening contest. A competitive novices’ handicap hurdle, 20 horses go to post but Jack Jones’ four-year-old caught the eye with how he moved through the Boodles at Cheltenham (raced a shade too keenly) and reverting to a sounder surface looks sure to help. He will need to settle better, but he receives a handy 8lbs age-allowance here and can outrun his big odds (best price 20-1 at the time of writing).
The Celebration Chase looks to be a cracking contest and one in which El Fabiolo (3:00) can return to winning ways an in doing so, will surely clinch the British trainers’ title for Willie Mullins. Pulled-up in the Champion Chase after a serious mistake with a circuit to run, he was previously unbeaten over fences and is unbeaten – over both hurdles and fences – when racing on a right-handed track. Jonbon obviously boasts strong course form (3-3 over course-and-distance) and should appreciate the better ground, but he looked to have a tough race when grinding out the win in the Melling Chase at Aintree, where he seemed to appreciate the longer trip. El Fabiolo is fancied to out-speed Nicky Henderson’s runner.
Saturday’s selections:
1:50 Sandown – An Bradan Feasa; 20/1 William Hill
3:00 Sandown – El Fabiolo; 8/11 Bet365
