The form of BARON NOIR (12:20) was given a couple of boosts on Thursday, when Bossman Jack and Bobby’s Nelson both won, and he can score under a penalty at Kempton. His bumper form is also strong and with a mark of 126, he sets a fair standard.
Later on the card, KALIF DU BERLAIS (2:40) is fancied to bounce back to form in the Silviniaco Conti Chase, a race Paul Nicholls won in 2020, 2021 and 2023. A high-class novice last term, he was 2-2 at Kempton as a juvenile hurdler and this longer trip and flat track should be right up his street.
